Manager Human Resource (Male/Female)
Basic Function
  • To manage a major human resource function within Centara Grand Island Resort & Spa Maldives.

Classification Characteristics
Supervised By: Director Human Resources/General Manager
Supervises:  HR Officer, Resort Doctor, Staff Restaurant Team, Welfare Officer
Duties
  • Develops and implements short-range and long-range goals, policies and procedures
  • Prepares and presents reports to the board of directors, management, committees and outside agencies
  • Oversees special duties
  • Represents department at meetings with consultants, public officials and employees including management.
  • Advises the management and staff on HR policies, procedures, practices, regulations and resolutions of related problems
  • Provides personal and professional development counseling
  • Creates materials to communicate human resources information
  • Analyzes and interprets insurance, general contracts, laws, regulations and court rulings if required
  • Plans and manages employee classification, salary administrations and performance-based compensation programs
  • Plans and manage recruitment and selection activities
  • Supervises employee entertainment and welfare programs
  • Oversees employee assistance, wellness, duty and medical programs and the process
  • Interprets and applies labor contract provisions regarding employment, displacements, layoffs, separations.
  • Oversees monitors and adheres to department budget, goals and schedules which comply with Centara’s fiscal responsibility.
  • Develops and delivers HR related projects from inception to close on time and within scope and budget
  • Develops, identify, liaise and coordinate personal/professional development plans for employees including career planning and succession planning

Essential Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of:
  • Theories, principles and practices of best HR management including training, adult training and job evaluation, compensation and salary administration
  • Applicable local laws, rules and regulations governing HR for public/private businesses in general.

Ability to::
  • Oversee the operation of a major HR function
  • Communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and correspondences including delivering presentations
  • Handle highly confidential information
  • Represents the company before public, government and other business sectors
  • Analyze situations, identify problems, recommend solutions, and evaluate outcome
  • Determine strategies to achieve goals and implement road maps
  • Plan financial and staffing needs
  • Establish and implement policies and procedures
  • Compile, analyze, and interpret data
  • Understand, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures, contracts, budgets and labour/management agreements
  • Interact professionally with various levels of authority employees and outside representatives including government representatives
  • Supervise subordinate staff

Minimum Qualification
  • High Diploma, Bachelors/Master Degree in HR and/ or experience in a similar capacity
  • 3 to 4 years of supervisory-level experience in HR management minimum if not in the same capacity as head of HR
